...some of the 23 things that have stuck with me...

Even though my "out of order" approach reflects the sometimes frenetic way I've felt about 23 things, I would give the 2.0 adventure a 9 on the traditional scale of 1 to 10. I've learned a lot that I need to learn more about and I've become reacquainted with info I already knew (You Tube, social networking sites, flickr...) I've also been a bit dumbstruck by things I still have no grasp on, but will eventually (namely: Mashups)

Here are some thoughts on the things I loved most:

-I kid you not, before we started 23 things I had no clue how to go digital in a musical way. Ever since we received our iAudio players I have finally understood why so many people are creating playlists on their computers (CDs and vinyl still appeal to me, though, and somehow big band just seems out of place if it's not playing on my real record player) and transferring them to MP3 players. Yay for technology!

-Though I constantly go online to read book reviews and find out all the latest news, I had no idea just how many library blogs there are out there!!I just wish the average Joe could read some of them...to see that library folk have a great sense of humor and possess modern takes on the world...maybe those stereotypes would shatter some more:)...We really can't do much about the cat thing, though, since a lot of us just adore cats and will never apologize for that:).

-This isn't really something I learned, more of a "I got a kick out of" thing. Reading staff blogs has been both helpful and fun...I only hope the links stay on for some time since I haven't even seen a third of them yet...the ones I've seen have been nice. Some of you have been holding back on your computer and writing talents until now!!;)

-Web 2.0 only accentuates the fact those who refuse to "go computer" will probably be left behind in the dust. While I don't see myself ever budging on how much I love the feel of old-fashioned paper when I read fiction, I do see the benefits of moving a bit further away from newspapers and magazines and going online instead.

-Mr. H and John J. were definitely right about podcasts!!Whenever I think about what we can do on the 'net these days with podcasts and even creating our own "radio stations" I can't help but think how far we've come from being our own basement djs as kids and playing with our dads' shortwave radios.

-Del.icio.us has to be one of the neatest websites ever! I can't believe I was actually able to download the buttons and they work. This is a small step for most people, but a big one for me...

-While Flickr has inspired me to get a digital camera as soon as it fits into my budget I find similar sites (like snapfish and stockphoto) to be just as helpful if not more.

-The 24th thing looks very intriguing but I only saw a little bit of it...I'm going to go back and watch more and add a blog entry on that if my laptop behaves and I finish in time for tomorrow. I wasn't expecting " Revolution: OS" to be so long nor to be such a high-quality production...I definitely want to give it some more time soon.

more thoughts may suddenly show up as they pop into my mind...23 things doesn't really stop here, does it?
